In 2009 Oxford University Press published one of the first comprehensive books on the intellectual property laws and practice of a middle eastern country, titled: Intellectual Property Law and Practice of the United Arab Emirates by Peter Hansen of Hansen & Partners, Syria.

This work consists of a complete set of UAE intellectual property laws and regulations in Arabic and with the author's translations of each into English. This is probably the first time that they have been translated by a native English speaker who is also a Western qualified lawyer. The remainder of the work is a commentary on issues of law and practice.

Since its release, the work has received favourable feedback from practitioners in the UAE and abroad. It may be ordered from Oxford University Press (www.oup.com). A flyer for the work can be downloaded below.
